As a financial services professional, Derek Walker knows that the best way to boost our economy is to allow the hard working families in the 5th District to keep more of what they earn. In the Reagan tradition, Derek will fight the Washington bureaucracy by making the current tax cuts permanent, pushing for additional cuts and putting an end to wasteful government spending.
Work to make healthcare more accessible and affordable.
Working with the region¹s finest doctors and healthcare professionals, Derek will expand rural healthcare by giving individuals more options for health insurance and specialized care. Derek Walker will focus on giving states and healthcare providers incentives to reduce health insurance premiums and end abusive medical malpractice lawsuits. Derek also understands the need for quality healthcare and will focus on bringing top-notch healthcare professionals to our region.
Give rural communities the tools to address a changing economy.
Derek Walker believes that the number one job of our next Congressman is to deal with our nation¹s sluggish economy. Derek will work with our region¹s businesses, community organizations and our great colleges and universities to expand our economy. He will also focus on expanding rural technologies and update our aging infrastructure. Derek will also oppose any effort to put tollbooths on Interstate 80.

Derek Walker knows that illegal immigrants cost the taxpayers millions of dollars and that more than 20 million illegal immigrants have crossed our border. Derek will fight to finish the construction of the border fence, hire additional border security, and not give illegal immigrants the rights and privileges that belong to US citizens. Derek will also fight to make English the official language of the United States.
